Winter arrives
Cold dark hollow
Icy solace
On the bank of
A mighty river
Raindrops fall
Through frozen air
Break the surface
Become one with
Angry waves
Teardrops fall
Hot and salty
Breathless remembering
Of the way here
Of the way home
Steely clouds
Ripped wide open
